Today the 20th January 2009,President Elect Barack Obama will be
receiving his all-New Cadillac Limousine while taking office.He
will be the 44th President of the United States of America,like his
increased security detail,the President Elect will be driven the safestride on his Cadillac one Limousine to ever grace Pennsylvania
Avenue.
Unlike the car that was previously used by outgoing President
George W.Bush.The New Commander-in-Chief will ride in the
back of the extended Cadillac DTS.In the Cadillac Art & Science
range.This Limousine has a more Conservative Design & a Stately
appearance as the DTS has gone far enough to eliminate the
controversial chromed engine vents on the front side fendors.
For high security reasons no photographs of the Cadillac one’s
interior was provided.This New Limousine will be equipped with
the latest electronic gadgets including enough video screens to get
Malia & Shasha excited while giving Michelle a break from the
“ When are we gonna get there syndrome,”
The President elect while travelling to & from his New abode will be
kept well informed of the world’s happenings.For security reasons the
New Limousine’s ballistic capabilities details will not be released now
or anytime soon,but based on GM’s heavy duty truck platform is safe
it needs to support the weight of all the armour plating so as to with-
stand its potential gunshots,rocketfire or bomb blasts.
There are other information collected through unofficial sources that
the Limo’s flooring is reinforced with a 5 inch thick steel plate for
protection from under car explosions or a hit from above if the car is
overturned.The Limo’s tyres are completely puncture & shred proof
as they are Kevlar-reinforced with steel rims below that will help in
the escape even if no tyres are wrapped around them.
The trunk of the Limousine is equipped with fire fighting equipments
& an oxygen supply system.If the Limo suffers a direct hit an armour-
plated gas tank features a special foam filler that helps in preventing an
explosion.The doors of the Limo has the same weight as that of the
cabin door of the 757 jet airliner.
They are armour plated & have 8 inch thick steel making them quite
heavy.The doors open upto a passengers compartment which seats 4
people behind the glass partition that only the President can lower to
speak with the front occupants.The rear windows of the previous
generation Presidential Limos were smaller compared to the present
Cadillac one Limo which are quite large.
The overall foot print has been the same,but the Limousine height has
been increased.The Limo is also equipped with sophisticated defence
accessories to assist the trained detail,like night vision cameras,teargascannons,pump action shot guns.the front windshield has the capacity to
withstand armour piercing bullets.
The CIA-trained driver's side window is the only window that can be
opened upto 3 inches to speak with security detail outside or if to pay
a road toll.An embroidered Presidential Seal has been positioned at
the center of the rear seat back panel and also on each rear door trim
panel..The exterior rear door panels also positions the Presidential
Seal.
The Presidential Standard Flag flies from the left front fender whereas
the United States Flag flies from the right front fender.When the
President travels inside.At night you can see LED spotlights illuminate
the flags on the Limousine.Mark Nabb The Vice President of North
Americas Cadillac/Premium Channel said,”Cadillac is honoured to
again provide a New Presidential Limousine.”
